Upcoming Events

September 30, 2023 St. Mark's Creation Walk
Join us on Saturday, September 30th @ 9:30 AM for our Creation Walk.
We will be walking the Blue Loop Trail around the northern half of Sterling Lake at Van Patten Woods Forest Preserve.
This is near the Wisconsin state line, where we used to have our annual picnics. When you've entered off Route 173
(just east of Route 41), instead
of turning right to go to the shelters and picnic areas, go straight and follow the west side of the lake to the parking area near the northern end of the lake.
You will pass the parking area where they rent canoes along the way.

October 1, 2023 St. Mark's Annual Pet Blessing
You are invited to our annual animal blessing.
We take time once a year during our church service to give thanks and bless our companions in life - cats and dogs,
birds and chickens, turtles and fish and so much more! We will also acknowledge that our lives are made fuller and richer

by the creatures that inhabit the Earth with us, not just those that live with us.
Please have your pet on a leash or in an appropriate carrier.

Our service this year will be outside in our parking lot at 10 AM at 3350 N. Delany Rd. Waukegan, IL.

October 4, 2023 Sunday School / Youth Group visit to Kroll's Fall Harvest Farm!
It's that time of year again; it is time to visit Kroll's Fall Harvest Farm! Join us on Wednesday, October 4th @ 5:30 PM for an evening of fun. Kroll's offers a corn maze, hay rides, pumpkins & gourds, a petting zoo, concessions, and a gift shop.
Kroll's Fall Harvest Farm is located at 13236 W. Townline Rd. Waukegan, IL.

Hope to see you soon!

There is a place for you here at St. Mark’s!

We know church shopping can be stressful and visiting a church for the first time can be hard! That’s why we want to give you the opportunity to learn about St. Mark's and even attend a service online before joining us in person.
Feel free to explore the rest of our website, check out our social media accounts, and tune in on Sunday for our live worship service! If you enjoy what you see, do whatever feels right for you, whether that be visiting us in the future or watching online. We love having you join us, whichever way you attend!

a place to belong, just as you are

Come as You Are, Whoever You Are

Everyone is welcome at St. Mark’s, no matter what you have done, what has been done to you, what darkness or struggles you have faced, and regardless of whether you have been marginalized
by society or denied involvement by other churches.
All are worthy of God’s love and grace.  We celebrate diversity, and seek to be inclusive of every race, ethnicity, faith background, age, economic status, political affiliation, sexual orientation, gender identity, mental ability,
or anything else that divides us.
Christ’s church is not ours to control, nor is it our job to sort, divide, categorize or exclude.  But it is our place to love all our neighbors, aid the less fortunate, and to be a voice on their behalf.  Welcome!
“Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” Romans 15:7
